Jared McCann scores amazing Spin O Rama backhand goal while shorthanded!

When you are getting these kind of plays from a 22 year old on your roster it's a little hard to be too concerned about the future.

On Saturday night Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jared McCann dug his team out of a hole with an incredible play while shorthanded, one that will no doubt make every single highlight reel in Pittsburgh tonight and tomorrow morning. McCann and his Penguins were facing off against the Dallas Stars on Saturday and it was a particularly big game with both of the teams looking to lock in their spot in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs and you could tell early on that this game would have a playoff atmosphere to it. 

The fans in attendance at the American Airlines Center were treated to one hell of a back and forth game between the two squads, although unfortunately for the hometown fans the home team did not win, one that saw a number of impressive goals being scored at either end of the ice. The goal that stole the show however would be the eventual game winner and it would come during the third period while the Dallas Stars were on the power play. Now normally a power play is supposed to signal an advantage for your team but someone forgot to slip Jared McCann that memo apparently because he not only potted a shorthanded goal against the Stars, he did so in absolutely stunning fashion.

McCann and Penguins teammate Teddy Blueger were on a rush during the penalty kill when Blueger was able to get the puck to a streaking McCann. Not to discredit Blueger hear but what came next was an insane individual effort from McCann who utilized a spin o rama to score an incredible goal. Not only was the play a spin o rama, but he also fired it off of his backhand on the play and he managed to just barely tuck it under the blocker of Dallas Stars backup goaltender Anton Khudobin, all once again while the Penguins were shorthanded. 

It is one of those moments that simply makes your jaw drop, and one that will no doubt be played over several times in the near future.
