Juraj Slafkovsky gets crushed at center ice and leaves the game.
The Montreal Canadiens have just been given quite the scare in Game 4 of their opening round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Canadiens first overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky has just taken a monster hit at center ice courtesy of Lightning defenseman Max Crozier, a hit that Slafkovsky never saw coming. Slafkovsky was expecting a pass at center ice and he got just that, but as he turned to head up the ice he never saw Crozier who was lying in wait and absolutely cleaned Slafkovsky's clock with a huge hit that caught Slafkovsky completely off guard.
Those can often be the hits that lead to injuries and it was clear that Slafkovsky was in rough shape after absorbing that hit from Crozier. Not only was the Canadiens star forward slow to get up, but when Slafkovsky did eventually get back to his feet he would immediately leave the ice and head back into the Canadiens locker room.
The Canadiens have to hope this is not a serious injury as this is the type of injury that could drastically change the tone of this series.
