There will be a ton of questions for the Edmonton Oilers to address in the offseason after a very disappointing first round Stanley Cup playoff exit at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks. On Saturday, both Oilers general manager Stan Bowman and Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch got their chance to address some of those questions after their team's disappointing playoff exit earlier this week.

One of the biggest questions surrounded the health of Oilers forward Connor McDavid, with McDavid looking like a shell of his former self through this series. Gone were the bursts of speed that you would expect to see McDavid utilize as he tries to burn the opposing defense, and now we know the reason why.

Knoblauch was asked directly about the injuries his team was dealing with and confirmed details of serious injuries to both McDavid and Oilers forward Jason Dickinson.

"With Connor and Dickinson, both had fractures around the foot/ankle area," revealed Knoblauch. "Playing with a lot of pain."

Knoblauch also didn't shy away from stating flatly that the injuries had an impact on the performance the Oilers received from both men.

"That was the two most significant injuries," revealed Knoblauch. "We spent a lot of time with the training staff getting through that but obviously it affected their play."

That being said Knoblauch had nothing but praise for either man for the efforts they made to play for their team.

"A lot of admiration for them for wanting to be out there and contributing as much as they did," said Knoblauch.
