Laila Anderson meets the man who saved her life, her donor, Kenton.

Kenton Felmlee may not be a name you've heard before and it may not be a name you will hear again during your lifetime, but today on this day it is a name being celebrated by fans of hockey around the world. Kenton is the man who is credited as the man behind saving the life of St. Louis Blues superfan Laila Anderson, a diehard hockey fan who came to prominence during the St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup Championship run and one who entered the hearts and minds of millions of fans from around the league, even those normally considered well outside the purview of the Blues fandom.

Femlee claims that he was inspired by his father, a man that he watched struggle with a CVID disorder growing up, and was determined to make a difference in the life of at least one individual.

“There are a lot of times he’d come home from work and be extremely sick,” Felmlee said as per KCTV5.

Femlee said that after his surgery he would often think about the person whose life he may have helped save by becoming a donor, even drifting off in school lost in his thoughts. Femlee by the way is studying pre med in the hopes of one day becoming a doctor and saving even more lives.

“There were a lot of times I’d be in class and I couldn’t focus because all I could think about is, there is somebody out there who, in a way unexplainable, is connected to me. I felt that connection undoubtedly,” Felmlee said.

When Femlee realized that the life he had helped save was that of Laila Anderson he was just happy that he could provide her with a better outlook on life moving forward.

“I knew this could give her the chance to have a regular life, to be a happy kid,” Felmlee said.

“I think it’s hard for me to put into words how much she means to me and how much she inspired me,” he added.

Well the two finally got to meet and cameras were rolling for that emotional moment, one that seemed to overcome both Laila and Kenton. Thankfully they were back together again at the game tonight where they can enjoy some time together and focus on more positive things.
