It appears the Boston Bruins may have lost their captain and best defenseman for four to six weeks following a collision with New York Islanders forward John Tavares. During the first period Chara put the body to Tavares with an open ice hit, but it appears the two men's knees may have collided during the impact. It's not being reported that the injury to Chara may involved ligament damage in his right knee. As if that wasn't bad enough, we are also hearing that surgery has not been ruled out as of yet, so the four to six weeks estimate could potentially be much longer in reality.
