Leafs get stoned by the Mrazek Wall

The Toronto Maple Leafs’ pre-season record drops to 4-3 after suffering a 0-3 loss in Detroit. Both teams had 8 Power-Play chances, but the Leafs were unable to capitalize on any of them, while Detroit was able to score twice with the man advantage. Detroit netminder Petr Mrazek looked like everything except a goalie set to start his season in the American Hockey League, turning away all of Toronto’s 27 shots on net. Captain Dion Phaneuf had the team’s best chances in hand, ringing two shots off the post. His first one, in the middle of the 2^nd period, could have given Toronto the lead to what may have been a different outcome.
