Luke Glendening trades a puck for girl scout cookies.

The National Hockey League can produce some pretty magical moments and just a one day ago Detroit Red Wings forward Luke Glendening got to experience one of those moments, and in fact he helped make it happen. 

The date was the 29th of February and Glendening and his Red Wings were set to face off against the Ottawa Senators. Now as you might imagine it is probably somewhat difficult for the Red Wings to get overly excited about playing under any circumstances this season given just how much losing they have done, but thanks to one young fan Glendening had his day brightened up considerably both prior to and after the game itself. 

While he was warming up with his teammates Glendening spotted a fan in the audience holding up a sign begging for a puck from her favorite team, the Detroit Red Wings of course. The sign indicated that this was the first time this young lady was attending a live event, and although she was indeed asking for a special favor from the players she was not asking for it for free. A lot of times you will see fan requests things with their signs, but this fan got particularly creative by offering up a prize in exchange for what she wanted, in this case the prize was a box of girl scout cookies. Luckily for her the bait worked perfectly on at least one member of the Red Wings. 

The aforementioned Glendening skated up to her with a puck in hand and, although he would later admit that he had no idea whether or not he was going to be rewarded with the cookies, he tossed it over the glass much to the delight of the young lady on the other side. Glendening did not have to wait long for confirmation that her offer was legit however, she quickly lived up to her end of the bargain by tossing him a box of girl scout cookies over the class, much to his delight. I have to be honest Glendening looked like he might have been even happier than the fan considering the fact that he was smiling from ear to ear on his way back to the bench, cookies in hand.
