You have to feel bad for young National Hockey League goaltender Malcolm Subban.

The journey to the National Hockey League has been an extremely rocky one for Subban and on Sunday night he returned to the location where his difficult start began. It was a night that could have proven to be the redemption arc in Subban's hockey story but unfortunately for the young goaltender the mistakes of the past seemingly came back to haunt him.

Subban began his career as a first round pick of the Boston Bruins in the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft and unfortunately for him he never managed to live up to the expectations that were laid out before him. Not only was Subban a goaltender picked in the first round but his brother was also a superstar in the NHL which set unrealistic expectations before him, expectations he never even came close to matching.

His first game with the Bruins saw him post a 5.81 goals against average and a laughable .500 save percentage and things only got slightly better in his second game when he recorded a 5.88 goals against average and a .813 save percentage. That would be the last time that Subban would ever suit up for the Bruins, he finished out the season in the American Hockey League before eventually being acquired by the Las Vegas Golden Knights, a team that has given him significantly more looks at the NHL level.

Subban had a great deal of struggles at TD Garden but after joining the Las Vegas Golden Knights he seemingly turned his career around with a 22 game performance during the 2017 - 2018 NHL season that saw him record a 2.86 goals against average and a .910 save percentage. Sunday night Subban returned to TD Garden as a member of the Las Vegas Golden Knights but instead of a dominant performance against his former team Subban's night was highlighted by a horrible fumble that put his team in a huge whole early on.

Subban had already given up a goal in the game's first period when he made the following blunder, one that his team never really recovered from after two periods of play.
