Marner gets doubled over by a low blow from the goalie!

His grand kids felt that one.

It seems like at least one member of the Buffalo Sabres organization is not a fan of the idea of Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Mitch Marner producing offspring.

On Saturday night the Toronto Maple Leafs faced off against the Buffalo Sabres in what was a very important bounce back game forthe Toronto Maple Leafs who had just suffered a humiliating defeat. Earlier in the week the Maple Leafs and star forward John Tavares were in New York for Tavares' first game against his former team in hostile territory and it was an unmitigated disaster for the Leafs who really needed a pick me up against the Sabres.

Luckily for the Leafs they got exactly what they needed from the Sabres although perhaps one Maple Leafs would argue that he got a little bit more than he wanted on Saturday night. In an incident that was seemingly overlooked by the broadcast at the time that it happened Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was on the receiving end of a rather dirty looking low blow courtesy of Buffalo Sabres goaltender Linus Ullmark of all people.

Ullmark does not exactly have a reputation as a particularly dirty player and it seems likely that he probably took exception to something that had happened earlier in the game, but nonetheless there was no disputing the fact that he definitely cup checked Marner in the heat of the action during the game's second period.

Unsurprisingly Marner was absolutely furious at taking a shot right in his family jewels, at least he was angry after he managed to recover from being doubled over in pain at the shot to the junk, and he was quick to skate over to the National Hockey League officials on the ice and voice his displeasure. Even after Marner got back to the bench, where he was clearly still suffering the effects of the shot to the groin, he could still be seen clearly mouthing off to the officials on the ice.

Obviously screaming at the officials is not the right way to go about things but when the team's came out for the next period the issue was addressed so it's clearly someone got in the officials ear.
