The New York Islanders will be very happy that Mathew Barzal decided to wear a helmet in warmups today because otherwise this could have been a disaster.
Barzal was struck in the head by an errant puck just minutes before Game 7 while he and his fellow Islanders were warming up just ahead of facing the Philadelphia Flyers for the last time this season. The good news here for the Islanders is he did look like he was ok on the play, although he certainly did not look the least bit happy about taking a puck to the head and who can blame him.
