Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk does a great job of playing on the edge, but on Wednesday night he may have crossed the line.
During the first period of a match up between the aforementioned Flames and the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Center, Leafs forward Matt Martin delivered a questionable hit to Flames veteran Troy Brouwer.
The hit caused a scrum in front of the Flames bench, and during that scrum Tkachuk, who was sitting on the Flames bench at the time, delivered a spear to Matt Martin, presumably as revenge for the hit on Brouwer.
Obviously spearing players at the best of time's is not allowed, and doing it to a player on the ice while you are on the bench is almost certainly going to bring down the wrath of the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety.
It will be very interesting to see what comes of this incident.
