Milan Lucic demonstrates what an NHL enforcer can do.
It can feel a bit strange to say given how ridiculous it sounds, but there are fans out there in the world who sometimes fail to recognize just how uniquely talented the professional athletes that we see in the National Hockey League truly are.
Every single player that makes the NHL is on some level incredibly gifted at his craft and, while that can be hard to notice at times when they are surrounded by other NHL players, this really shines through when you see an NHL-level player outside of that environment.
Veteran NHL enforcer Milan Lucic has gone through some turmoil in his career as of late and as a result he is no longer a player in the world's premier hockey league, but despite that Lucic has continued to ply his craft as a professional hockey player in the United Kingdom's Elite Ice Hockey League or EIHL for short.
This past week, Lucic was playing for his current team, the Fife Flyers, when he was challenged by Kevin Watson of the Sheffield Steelers to drop the gloves. As it would turn out, this was a huge mistake on the part of Watson.I'm not sure if Watson was hoping to find out just how tough Lucic truly is, but he would find out the hard way when Lucic was more than willing to answer his challenge.
What would follow was perhaps one of the shortest fights of Lucic's career, one in which Watson was clearly done after Lucic connected with just a single punch to Watson's exposed chin.
This was clearly a case of a man biting off more than he can chew, and it may even have been a case of a man not showing enough respect for the athlete, and the danger, that was standing right in front of him.
