Monday Morning Recap: Wings Shootout Win Over Bruins

The Detroit Red Wings ended their 2014-2015 training camp with a 4-4 pre-season record, edging the Boston Bruins in a shootout, despite a Patrice Bergeron hat trick. Riley Sheahan continued to impress in camp with a goal and an assist. Xavier Ouellet and Andrej Nestrasil scored less than eight minutes apart in the second period to help the Red Wings build a 3-1 lead. Nestrasil also scored in the shootout. Bergeron brought the Bruins back in the game, scoring 3:14 into the second period before erasing the two-goal lead with goals 7:32 apart in the third. Gustav Nyquist scored the clincher in the shootout to end the bout. Petr Mrazek stopped 20 of 23 shots for Detroit; Boston goalie Tuukka Rask made 26 saves. The Red Wings begin the regular season Oct. 9 at Joe Louis Arena against the Bruins, one day after Boston opens at home against the Philadelphia Flyers. [iframe id="" align="center" mode="normal"]
