Must see: Eric Staal thrown into the opposing net and punched in the back of the head 3 times.

Staal gets rough up on Thursday night.

I guess the Columbus Blue Jackets never learned to respect their elders.

On Thursday night the Blue Jackets roughed up veteran forward Eric Staal, sending him crashing into the net before viciously attacking him. After Staal was shoved into the net, the cameras caught him taking at least three very dangerous blows to the back of the head.

It appears that it was Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard who delivered the blows to Eric Staal and, while he may have felt he was helping his team, head coach John Tortorella will likely have a few words with him about piling on his own goalie.
