Kaspar Daugavins was selected 91st overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2006 NHL entry draft. After spending 6 full seasons with the Sens, the Latvian was traded to Boston in 2012-13, where played 6 regular season games and 6 others in the playoffs. In 2013-14, he signed the Swiss club of Genève-Servette, posting 44 points in 44 games and adding 13 in 12 playoff games. This season, Daugavins joined the Dynamo Moscow in the KHL. He currently leads his team with 35 points in 32 games. In the game between Moscow and the Medvescak Zagreb earlier this week, Daugavins had a great chance to bring his team to victory in the overtime period on an incredible play! One of his teammates pulled off a perfect saucer pass from the defensive zone, Daugavins stopped the puck in mid-air and found himself alone on a breakaway but the goalkeeper Mark Owuya intervened. Owuya spent two seaons with the Toronto Marlies... Daugavins did not score, but everything about the play is perfect, even the save!
