How high of an overall does McDavid gets in his first NHL year? Find out here.
Without much surprise, Connor McDavid tops all rookies in the NHL in EA sports game NHL 16 with an overall of 82. Although rookies can't appear officially on an NHL 16 major league roster before they played an actual NHL game, a loophole makes players like McDavid, Mitch Marner and many others already available for gamers to play with.
Youngsters who played in the Canadian hockey league are already created and can simply be moved by the player himself to the roster of his current NHL team. That is not the case with NCAA players who can't appear in the game at all until they play in either the NHL or the AHL. That is why second overall pick Jack Eichel isn't in the game yet.
As it is often the case with rookies in many games, like Madden NFL for instance, EA sports asked them to try and rate themselves and some of their friends. Most of them are surprised by their ratiing, but not all surprises are positive.
Other notable young guns with a high overall are Emile Poirier of the Calgary Flames, Oliver Bjorkstrand of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Mackenzie Skapski of the New York Rangers and Ronalds Kenins of the Vancouver Canucks who all come in with an 80.
