MUSTE SEE: An Ottawa Senators prospect goaltender scores a goal!

Francois Brassard was selected in the 6th round (166th overall) by the Ottawa Senators in the 2012 NHL entry draft. Brassard was the netminder of the Quebec Remparts for 3 seasons before being traded this summer to the Cape Breton Eagles. The Gatineau, Que., native had 33 saves on Saturday night to back the Screaming Eagles to a big 8-5 win over his former team. Brassard not only defeat the Remparts, but he did it in the most insulting way ever: the goaltender also scored a short-handed empty-netter with 1:02 left in the 3rd period! He shot the puck off the glass from behind his own net and had it ricochet on his ex-teammate Adam Erne, the puck slid down the ice and into the opposing goal. After the game Brassard told the Cape Breton Post:

It was ironic that it was against them. I wasn't trying to score but it's great."

Francois Brassard scored his 1st career QMJHL goal becoming the first QMJHL goalie to notch a goal since Dec. 6, 2008 when Peter Delmas of the Lewiston MAINEiacs and Rimouski Oceanic's Maxime Gougeon scored on the same day!
