The new Canucks are paying off big! (VIDEO)

The Canucks hired a new General Manager this year in Jim Benning, and the moves he made this off season are starting to make the man look like a genius. Benning picked up free agents Nick Bonino and Linden Vey before signing Radim Vrbata  and all three players are now amongst the Canucks top five scorers. In fact Bonino is leading the team with six goals. It's a drastic change from last year, both in terms of public relations and production on the ice, the Canucks converted less than 8% of their shots on goal last year as a team, all three of the players mentioned above are converting at a much higher rate. Vrbata has 5 goals on 45 shots for a conversion rate of 10.9%. Bonino has 6 goals on 31 shots for a conversion rate of 19.4% And Vey has 4 goals in just 11 shots for a staggering conversio nrate of 36.4% While these numbers aren't likely to be sustained throughout the season, it's a great start for a Canucks franchise that was an embarrassment last season.
