The NHL has decided to continue it's tradition of hiring very old and arguably outdated musical acts to perform during their outdoor games.
The league announced that Billy Idol will be the latest performer to step up onto the stage at the New Year's Day event, following in the footsteps of the two previous acts, KISS and Def Leppard.
It's seems odd for a league that has worked so hard to modernize itself to continue to book acts that haven't been relevant in the music world for quite literally decades. This isn't an attempt to knock KISS, Def Leppard or even Billy Idol, but rather an honest look at the leagues practices.
KISS by all accounts put on a tremendous performance during their time to shine at the stadium series in Los Angeles, hopefully Billy Idol will manage to reach the bar KISS set.
If he doesn't we can at least hope to get another picture like this!
