The NHL's Player Safety Committee made a decision on Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt following his hit on Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall. The hit, a knee on knee collision that occurred during the third period of the Oilers 3-2 loss to the Stars has resulted in a two game suspension for Garbutt. There will almost certainly be questions of whether or not 2 games was sufficient enough a punishment for what appeared to be a rather intentional attempt to take out the Oilers star forward. The NHL Player Safety Committee made the announcement via their official twitter. It will be interesting to hear their explanation on why it was only two games, in the video below you can see Garbutt clearly extends his leg in an attempt to take out Taylor Hall at the knee, a play that could potentially have cost Hall much more than two games. What do you think? Was justice served here?
