In an effort to take one of the most frustrating plays in all of sports out of it's game, the NHL issued a notice that they would be cracking down on dives this season. True to their word, they have issued the very first fine against a player for taking a dive during a game. The Nashville predators James Neal was fined $2,000 dollars today for his sure to be Oscar nominated performance against the San Jose Sharks, Neal had already been issued a warning earlier in the year for a dive against the St. Louis Blues, he was fined because this was his second offense.
