NHL Player suffers horrific injury in New York.(Video)

In a play that has to fall in the freak accident category, New York Islanders forward Thomas Hickey was hit in the face by a skate during the Islanders 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Hickey appeared to lose his balance while fighting for the puck along the boards, and fell forward, almost face first. The result was the Leafs Mike Santorelli kicking him clean in the face with the blade of his skate. Santorelli clearly had no intention of injuring Hickey he was simply mid stride and probably didn't even notice he had hit Hickey in the face.
