It has been a horrible year for NHL officiating and this, again, unfortunately provided another clear example of that fact. This particular incident occurred during a match up between the Calgary Flames and New York Islanders Friday evening. The play happened in the early stages of the third period while the Islanders were already up 1-0. Cal Clutterbuck of the Islanders appears to score a clear goal in the video, but somehow, the referees call goal tender interference on the play while simultaneously decided there's no penalty. A call that completely boggles the mind, if you've got an explanation for it let us know in the comments below.
