Fans can’t stop talking about what unfolded on the Ottawa bench after the Sens' goal.
It was a big night for the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday as they hosted the Colorado Avalanche. With just minutes left in the third period, the Avs were trailing 3-2 and pulled their goalie for the extra attacker.
The Senators, riding their best effort of the season, didn’t miss the opportunity. Captain Brady Tkachuk buried the empty-netter, putting the game out of reach. But it wasn’t just the goal that caught fans’ attention, it was what happened next.
When Tkachuk skated to the bench, teammate Nick Cousins, who had a great performance, greeted him with one of the strangest celebrations you’ll ever see.
Cousins went in for a hug and then suddenly started “punching” Tkachuk, pretending he’d won a brawl with his captain. The hilarious and chaotic moment had the bench, and social media, buzzing.

It capped a statement win for Ottawa, who took the game 5-2 over the Avalanche. Between Tkachuk’s clutch finish and Cousins’ unusual antics, it was a night fans won’t forget.
