Foligno answered with clean, powerful shots that left Sabourin bloodied. The fight turned into the longest of the 2025–26 season, with Foligno asserting that you simply cannot push the Wild, or their teammates, around.

Dangerous lefts from Sabourin were met with vengeance, sending a clear message and igniting the crowd in what was already a fiery first period.
