Washington Capitals forward Niklas Backstrom had his way with Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Ben Bishop this evening. Backstrom scored the first three goals of the game, two of them the second period, to get his team out to a three nothing lead against the Lightning. Backstrom was the difference this evening, the Lightning managed a bit of a come back in the thirds period but only got within a goal before the Capitals Eric Fehr added an empty net goal.
