A devastating one-punch KO over the weekend lands a player in hospital.
A hockey fight in Quebec, Canada over the weekend has ended in spectacular but devastating fashion.
45 year old Nicolas Heon may want to seriously consider whether or not his days of dropping the gloves in the sport of hockey should be over after he was on the receiving end of a devastating one-punch knockout courtesy of a much younger man, 25 year old Daven Rousseau
Heon and Rousseau were both playing in the "League Hockey Senior AA Quebec" which roughly translates to "Quebec's AA Senior Hockey League" when Heon appeared to challenge Rousseau off the draw. Heon dropped his gloves and Rousseau backed away to do the same, but when the two men came together the fight was over before you could blink.
Rousseau closed the distance and delivered an overhand right that looked like it caught Heon just behind the ear, turning off his lights instantly. Although Rousseau would throw a few more shots as Heon slowly began to fall to the ice, it was clear the fight had ended after the very first punch was thrown.
Heon's body hit the ice hard and he slid across the ice with his arms locked in a fencing position, Heon appeared to be in bad shape and was transported to hospital, but thankfully there is some very good news regarding his condition.
Heon was released from hospital that very same night and was able to spend the night at home after being cleared by medical staff. Reports indicate that he was even able to go back to the arena to retrieve his equipment the very next morning, likely a sign that he very much intends to keep playing despite this scary setback.
