Nolan suspended after hit on Helm (VIDEO)

The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today the Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan has been suspended after a hit from behind on the Red Wings Darren Helm on Friday in Detroit. Nolan hit Helm right in the numbers, sending him head first into the boards. Nolan was assessed a 2 minute penalty on the play for boarding, he NHL deemed the hit questionable enough to warrant a review. Nolan is a repeat offender and is suspended without pay for the hit. The retaliation for the hit was a total brawl between the two teams, with the Red Wings Jonathan Ericsson delivering an NFL style tackle on Nolan.
