One of the best in the NHL taken out by hard hit from behind. (VIDEO)

The Chicago Blackhawks have lost arguably the best player in the NHL tonight to a vicious hit from behind. Midway through the second period of the game between the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks, the Bruins Denis Seidenberg took a run at Toews as he was looking to recover the puck from behind the Bruins net. Toews went down in a heap and the team has since announced that he will not be returning to the game. A scary moment for Blackhawks fans as they have seen their captain miss time in the past from several concussions. You can see the hit here courtesy of the NHL.
