One of the worst hits all year leaves Alzner busted open! (VIDEO)

The Saint Louis Blues David Backes tried to argue the boarding major when the official came to the penalty box, but there wasn't a whole lot he could to do talk his way out of it. That's because the Washington Capitals Karl Azner was quite visibly busted open after he was the recipient of a hit from behind from Backes. The play occurred during the second period of yesterday's game between the two teams, and you could see Alzner bleeding from above his left eye almost immediately after the play. The NHL will likely be reviewing this one, but you can make your own judgement call after watch the video below.
