Ouch! Campbell eats a huge hit right under the chin.

While it didn't look like Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader was trying to catch veteran defenseman up high, that's exactly what happened on Friday night.

Abdelkader followed Campbell into the corner as he tried to clear the puck out of his zone and up the ice, and he punished the vulnerable Campbell with what at first looked like a textbook hockey check. 

Campbell's young teammate Trevor van Riemsdyk however clearly saw it differently, he immediately went to challenge Abdelkader who was more than happy to drop the gloves with van Riemsdyk.
