The Washington Capitals weren't happy about this one bit, and it's hard to blame them.
On Wednesday night Washington Capitals star forward Alexander Ovechkin was shaken up after a knee-on-knee collision with Chicago Blackhawks forward Ryan Hartman.
While knee-on-knee hits happen fairly regularly as the result of accidental collisions on the ice, this was not one of those incidents. The slow motion replay appears to show Hartman clearly sticking his leg out to deliver the knee-on-knee hit and that infuriated the Capitals.
Capitals enforcer Tom Wilson went after a few Blackhawks players after the hit but nothing really came of it. Thankfully for Washington Ovechkin was able to remain in the game.
