It was a very rough night for the Florida Panthers in more ways then one. First they lost, to the visiting Maple Leafs, becoming the first team to lose a home game against Toronto in 2015, something they are not likely to be very proud of. But the loss was only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Panther's problems. During the game their star player Roberto Luongo was struck by a shot that took him out of the game early on, and while it hasn't been officialy confirmed that he will miss time, he's currently undergoing tests that will determine the severity of the injury. As a result the Panthers sent in back up goaltender Al Montoya but he didn't fare much better. He allowed two goals before suffering an injury of his own, one that will reportedly keep him sidelined for several weeks. While the Luongo update hasn't been made official, the simple fact that the Panthers have called up both Dan Ellis and Sam Brittain today would indicate his injury will keep him sidelined for at least some time.
