Pierre Lebrun believes Hextall is running out of time, and other trade rumors.

It’s no secret that Ron Hextall is looking to make some major changes in Philadelphia, but Hextall has preached patience, and ,many expect the Flyers GM to wait for the right opportunity. However ESPN’s Pierre Lebrun believes that Hextall is running out of time and patience to make the move that he wants. Here are Hextall’s comments on the situation:

“We’re not looking for a short-term fix,” Hextall said. “We’re looking for today and tomorrow but also for the future. So, we’re not going to do something short-term that’s going to hurt us down the road. In saying that, if something is there that makes sense, we’re certainly going to look at it. There’s been more talk lately [with other teams], but nothing that makes sense for us at this point.”

Eklund of HockeyBuzz is reporting that the Flyers are now dangling Sean Couturier as trade bait, it would be a tough pill to swallow for Flyers fans who know that Couturier is already one of the best two way forwards in the NHL, and has nothing but upside. However if Hextall is able to get rid of one of the Flyers killer contracts, like that of recently unhappy Vincent Lecavalier, it appears he may be open to the move.
