Pierre-Luc Dubois was handed a match penalty and ejected after a dangerous sequence involving Robert Thomas during the game between the Washington Capitals and St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.
The play unfolded during a tie-up, but quickly escalated. Dubois appeared to wrestle Thomas to the ice, bringing him down hard in a motion that had fans comparing it to a WWE-style bodyslam. On replay, it looked even worse: Thomas’ face appeared to hit the ice as he went down, leaving him slow to get up before heading to the dressing room.
