The Philadelphia Flyers and Buffalo Sabres found themselves in pandemonium on Wednesday night after Rasmus Dahlin leveled Trevor Zegras into the boards. The hit was brutal enough to leave Zegras momentarily down, giving the crowd a tense few seconds as players scrambled to respond.

As teammates converged, a full-on scrum broke out, with everyone grabbing a partner and getting involved in the chaos.

Watch the full sequence down here:

Dahlin was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding, meaning he was ejected for the rest of the contest. Zegras, meanwhile, was able to get up and skate off under his own power, earning a standing ovation from fans in section 123 who recognized his resilience.

The sequence was a clear reminder of the intensity and physicality of the NHL, one hit can instantly shift momentum, ignite emotions on the ice, and send the crowd into a frenzy.

While Dahlin will sit out for the remainder of the game, he will have time to ponder if he will get suspended for boarding Zegras.
