The match up tonight between the Vancouver Canucks and Detroit Red Wings saw two of the leagues hottest teams going head to head. Thankfully the Red Wings emerged victorious, defeating the Canucks 5-3. The Canucks had pulled to within one goal late in the game, but Datsyuk recently returned from injury was once again the hero, icing the game with his second goal of the evening. However not everything went well for the Red Wings.  27 year old winger Justin Abdelkader was injured during the game, and will likely miss some time with a shoulder injury. Abdelkader appeared to suffer the injury when he was hit by the Canucks Luca Sbisa late in the 2nd period. Mike Babcock spoke to the media after the game and said he expects the injury won't be serious but Abdelkader is day to day. You can watch the play we believe caused the injury here courtesy of the NHL.
