Report: Connor McDavid compared to Sidney Crosby, but he prefers a Flyer instead.

Not only is Connor McDavid an up-and-coming superstar in the NHL, he's also a man of good taste. Leading up to the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, the projected 1st Overall pick has been compared to Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby on more than one occasion. While Crosby is one of the most talented players in the NHL, it is easy to compare McDavid to such a player. Both are generational talents, and both were hyped like crazy leading up to the draft.

However, McDavid would rather be compared to another phenomenal NHL star, and it just so happens he is a fan of one of Crosby's biggest rivals.

While others have compared McDavid to Crosby, McDavid has steered clear. Instead he's said he admires the 200-foot game and offensive ability of one of Crosby's rivals, Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux.

"I'd compare myself to someone who is very reliable in his own zone and can be put out there in the last two minutes of a game to either score a goal or to defend the goal," McDavid said.
