"He wasn't getting any cheaper".  Those where the words of one exec when the Wild inked Jonas Brodin to a six year 25 million dollar contract extension. When reached for comment GM Chuck Fletcher said Brodin "felt like he belonged" and that the Wild had "no reservations about signing him long term." Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada originally reported the deal and today he offered his opinion on the move. "It’s a great deal for both team and player, " said Friedman "because he’s getting better and not getting any cheaper" He will be eligible for a new contract at age 28, so there will be a second windfall. Friedman pointed out that the Wild essentially bought two years of free agency from Brodin with this extension, he would have been eligible in four years, thus making it a win for the Wild and I tend to agree. I personally think this was a great move, but that's just me I wanna hear what you think, leave us your thoughts in the comments below.
