Thestar.com is reporting that James Reimer has been officially named the starter for tonight's game against the Detroit Red Wings. This will be Reimer's third consecutive game in goal, he is a perfect 2-0 to start the season. When reached for comment Reimer was obviously pleased with the decision, "I’m happy to be back in there and looking forward to trying to get a win for our hockey team,” Reimer said. Reimer however made it clear he intends to continue to battle for more starts “That’s how it will be with two goalies,” Reimer said. “We’ll go back and forth, but for me, you just want to prepare for the game you are in. The results have been there for me but as a goalie you want to continue to improve all the time. I’d like to keep that going.” The talk of goaltending controversy had already begun with Reimer getting a 2-0 start to the year while Bernier struggled starting 0-2, this report is likely only to stoke the flames of that fire, but most feel Reimer has earned the start with his recent performance. As a side note Jake Gardiner will make his return to the ice after being a healthy scratch the past two games.
