Rangers vet Martin St. Louis certainly made his presence felt last night. St. Louis submitted a Jekyll and Hyde performance on Monday night by committing one big mistake, but making up for it minutes later. The seasoned playoff veteran made an uncharacteristic error on a Rangers 5-on-3, by allowing the Tampa Bay Lightning's leading scorer, Tyler Johnson, to skate in on a breakaway and eventually score the game's opening goal. The normally responsible forward made up for his mistake by tipping a point shot into the body of Ben Bishop for Chris Kreider to knock in on the rebound, only three minutes later. While the normally productive St. Louis is still in search of his first playoff tally, he has recorded five helpers in the playoffs. New York will need more consistent play, not just from St. Louis, but the entire squad if they hope to bounce back from their blowout loss in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final. No more excuses.
