Things probably just became a whole lot more real for Los Angeles Kings player Slava Voynov. On Monday, Voynov pleaded not guilty to the felony charges of domestic abuse he is facing, which means he will now face a trial in March that could see him sentenced to 9 years behind bars. Voynov's wife wrote a letter to the judge presiding over the trial explaining her version of the story, a version that claimed Voynov was not the assailant, but the judge refused to accept the evidence. Whether Voynov is guilty or not, it's good to see a high profile player being held to normal standards of justice, as opposed to skating off without so much as a slap on the wrist like Ray Rice did earlier this year despite having his act caught on video.
