While he may not be viewed as the most technically sound player in the NHL there is no question that Matt Cooke brings intangibles to the line up that don't show up on any score sheet. Unfortunately for the Wild it appears that an undisclosed injury to Cooke may prevent him from playing in game 1 of the Wild's first round playoff series against the St. Louis Blues. Head Coach Mike Yeo wouldn't comment at all on the injury to Cooke, stating only that it was causing him discomfort. and for what it's worth he did state that it was possible Cooke could play. It's a really unfortunate situation for both the wild and Cooke who was just coming off a two month long hiatus for a separate unrelated injury. Ryan Carter is expected to replace Cooke if he can't go for game 1.
