Not that anyone should be surprised by this, but Philadelphia Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo has a date with the NHL's Department of Player Safety. Again. Rinaldo hit Penguins defenceman Kris Letang from behind and was assessed a 5 minute major for boarding and a game misconduct. Letang didn't return and went through concussion protocol. He was back on the ice Wednesday for the Penguins optional skate, so it appears he will be fine. Rinaldo was in a good mood following the Flyers 3-2 victory. Rinaldo backtracked a little on his previous statements following the game. The fact that Letang seems to be ok after the hit may influence Rinaldo's suspension a little, but expect it to be a substantial suspension nevertheless. Here is the hit, in case you missed it.
