Rychel goes after Englund and gets ejected in the opening minutes of tonight's preseason game.

It might be preseason but that doesn't mean the guys on the ice aren't taking it seriously.

The Toronto Maple Leafs faced off against their provincial rivals the Ottawa Senators to kick off their preseason campaign and the two bitter rivals wasted no time before things got physical on both sides despite it being an exhibition game.

However it was Ottawa Senators defenseman Andreas Englund who got the crowd on their feet when he delivered a big hit to Leafs' forward Nazem Kadri. That hit came at price for Englund however who was quickly met by a charging Kerby Rychel who unloaded several punches before the officials stepped in.

In fact the officials were arguably too slow to intervene here as Englund never dropped his gloves, leading to an ejection and potentially more down the line from the NHL's Department of Player Safety.
