Sean Kuraly gets rocked by a massive uppercut from Ben Harpur.

I think Boston Bruins center Sean Kuraly might need some time off after this one.

On Sunday night the Boston Bruins were taking on the Ottawa Senators and with the Ottawa Senators taking an early 1 goal lead in the game the Bruins were in need of a little jolt. They got that jolt in the form of Kuraly who tried to light a fire under his time by dropping his gloves in the game's 2nd period, but it was a decision he has likely come to regret.

The 25 year old centerman challenged 23 year old  Ottawa Senators' defenseman Ben Harpur, who stands a full 4 inches taller than Kuraly, to a fight and unfortunately for Kuraly the young blue liner was more than willing to test his metal. In fact if anything it was Kuraly who bit off far more than he can chew and who was woefully unprepared for the challenge that Harpur presented to him.

It started immediately with the first punch of the exchange between these two men when Harpur landed a stiff right uppercut that produced a clear and visible reaction out of Kuraly. To the credit of the Bruins forward in spite of taking what was obviously a very big punch based on his body language he continued to go after Harpur in spite of the fact that he was probably already seeing some stars. As the exchange continued Kuraly fired off some shots of his own but Harpur appear to maintain control of Kuraly with the firm grip he had with his left arm, and he was merely bidding his time. After a wild swing from the Bruins forward Harpur unloaded a massive uppercut to the jaw and chin of Kuraly and this time around it was painfully obvious that Kuraly wanted nothing more than for the fight to be over.

The Bruins defenseman attempted to clutch onto Harpur and when that didn't work did his best to bring the fight to the ground where the National Hockey League officials separated the two men. Once he got back to his feet and began to head back to the locker room you could clearly see visible damage to his face, damage that is going to require some repairs in the back at the very least.
