The contributions of one Sidney Crosby to the sport of hockey are immeasurable. For the majority of his life Crosby has been the face of the National Hockey League and has created countless hockey moments and memories for millions of hockey fans around the world.

While all of those memories are held near and dear by hockey fans, you can easily imagine that they mean that much more to the man himself and on Saturday night we saw that on full display. The Penguins faced off against the New York Rangers on Saturday and it was prior to that game that the Penguins paid tribute to the 2016 Stanley Cup winning Penguins, a team that Crosby was of course a huge part of.

It has been nearly a decade since the Penguins won that Stanley Cup title and you could be forgiven if the memories and emotions felt in that moment had faded, but that most definitely is not the case for Crosby. Crosby, who lived that victory, was clearly choked up as the tribute began to play and as the video progressed the tears began to flow on the face of the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

As Crosby looked up at the video tribute, the lights in the building were reflected in the tears in his eyes, with Crosby gently wiping those tears from his eyes as the tribute came to a close. It spoke to his love of his teammates and his love of hockey, and I suspect that this will only add to Crosby's legacy and the love that fans have for him.

It truly was a beautiful moment and thankfully it was one that was caught on camera.
