Smid taken out by vicious shot to the head. (VIDEO)

It's starting to seem like almost every night another player is the victim of a questionable hit and tonight was certainly no exception. Calgary defenseman Ladislav Smid was injured this evening during the Flames match up against the Penguins. There's almost no doubt that the Penguins Simon Despres will be suspended for this one, principal point of contact is the head, he leaves his feet to make the hit, and he lifts his arm to clearly target Smid's head. Even the most apologetically biased Penguins fan would find himself hard pressed to defend this hit.
