Strange moment to say the least as this referee just cost the Wings a goal!

Score tied at one in the first period, Petr Mrazek blocks a shot from Boone Jenner, goes out of his crease to play the puck but decides to freeze it instead. Everybody on the ice thought the play was dead, except for the referee who kept asking Mrazek to play the puck! 

Finally, the Red Wings goaltender clears it behind his net and a few seconds later, surely, Brandon Dubinsky buries it in.

Now, that is weird.
