Taylor Hall goes bar down for his first as a Coyote.

Earlier this week the Arizona Coyotes pulled off one of the biggest trades in the history of their franchise when they acquired star forward Taylor Hall from the New Jersey Devils. The former Hart Memorial Trophy winner was brought in to add some offensive punch for the Coyotes but after two games with the organization he had failed to record a goal.

That goalless stretch for Hall was quickly cut short however as on Sunday night the talented forward broke the ice as they say when he recorded his first goal as a member of the Coyotes franchise. Now it may take away some of the luster when you consider the fact that he managed the feat against the worst team in the National Hockey League, the Detroit Red Wings, but that is no fault of Hall's. In fact although the Red Wings have been quite bad this season the goal still came against veteran goaltender Jimmy Howard, who admittedly was playing in his first NHL game since the 27th of November due to an injury he suffered.

The goal itself however was a true thing of beauty as Hall went bar down on Howard, completely fooling the experienced netminder and leaving him looking around in disbelief at what had just transpired. Hall had previously attempted a cross ice pass to fellow Coyotes teammate Phil Kessel, but that pass caught Kessel in the skates and did not result in a scoring chance for the Coyotes. When the puck made its way back to Hall, after some good puck movement from his Coyotes teammates, the former first overall pick made no mistake and went top shelf above Howard's glove and into the net.

The goal marks his first as an Arizona Coyote but despite not scoring prior to tonight's game against the Red Wings Hall has looked strong for the Coyotes since arriving in Arizona. The star forward is currently producing at a point per game pace with a pair of assists in his first 2 games with the organization, and of course he added his third point in his third game with tonight's goal. So far the trade is looking quite solid for the Yotes.

Here's another angle:
